AIME, the AI Music Embassy, is an independent, volunteer-run hub that connects AI music communities. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to aimusicembassy.org, the Humans of AI Music portal at humans.aimusicembassy.org, and the forms, events and projects we run. Questions and requests about your information go to privacy@aimusicembassy.org.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you fill in one of our forms, email us, join an event or take part in a project, we keep what you send: typically your name or handle, an email address, and details about your community, your event or your interest. Our website itself asks for nothing; it is a simple page with no sign-up and no tracking.
Information from the Humans of AI Music project. If you take part, we collect more, because the project tells your story in public. That includes your legal name and email (kept private and used only to contact you and record your consent), the public name you choose to appear under, your Instagram handle if you give it, your consent answers and signature with the date and time, the photos you upload with the photographer's details, and your recorded and transcribed interview. You must be 18 or over to take part.
Technical information. Like most websites, ours and the services we use record basic technical details such as your IP address and browser type when you visit or sign in. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers.
How we use it
We use your information only for the purpose you gave it to us: to reply to you, to run the event or project you joined, to keep the network of communities in touch, and, for Humans of AI Music, to prepare and publish your story with your approval.
For Humans of AI Music specifically: your interview is conducted and transcribed by an AI interviewer, and AI helps turn the transcript into a first draft that people on our team then edit. You see the finished post, with its photos and credits, before anything is published, and it goes out only when you approve it. If you also agreed to it, we may use quotes from your approved story, credited to your public name, in other material that supports human artists making music with AI. Any other use would need your separate agreement.
What we never do
We do not sell or rent your information. We do not use it for advertising. We do not use your story, voice, photos or music to train AI models, and we do not give them to anyone who would. We never publish your legal name or email address. We do not change the meaning of your words without asking you.
Who we share it with
Inside AIME, only the volunteers working on your project can see your information. Participants in Humans of AI Music never see each other's details.
We rely on trusted service providers to host our website and portal, store files, handle sign-in, run forms and email, conduct interviews, and publish on social media. They process your information on our behalf and under their own terms, and may store it in countries other than yours. We share nothing with anyone else unless you ask us to or the law requires it.
Anything you post in our community spaces, such as our Discord server or an Instagram comment, is visible to other members of that space and subject to that platform's terms.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as it is needed for the purpose you gave it to us, and we review what we hold at least once a year. Records of consent are kept as evidence of what you agreed to, including after a story is taken down or you withdraw.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for a particular purpose. You can withdraw consent you gave earlier, including consent to publish a story, a photo or a quote. Email privacy@aimusicembassy.org; you do not need to give a reason, and we will tell you what we did.
If you withdraw from Humans of AI Music, we stop work in progress and remove your story from the channels we control. Copies that other people have already made, such as screenshots or reposts, are outside our control. If a post about you attracts harassment, tell us and we will limit comments or take it down, as you prefer.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date below. The consent you gave for Humans of AI Music stays tied to the exact wording you signed.
